Every Bottle Back- Closing the Loop on Plastic Waste

Plastic waste is one of the defining environmental challenges of our time, but it is also one we can solve together. We are facing that challenge head-on with Every Bottle Back, a sustainability initiative that puts recycling at the center of our environmental provision.

Every Bottle Back was launched to help reduce the number of beverage bottles ending up in landfills or oceans. In Barbados, the initiative supports a return-and-reward system, where bottles can be brought back for cash, an incentive that previously drove recycling rates up to an impressive 80%. After the pandemic, however, those habits began to fade, and this program is now key to helping bring them back.

To make recycling more accessible, Every Bottle Back partners with community groups and government agencies to provide public collection points at major events like Crop Over and collaborates with platforms like B.E.S.T. to help educate consumers and promote a culture of reuse. Whether it is a bottle dropped at a festival or handed in from home, each one becomes part of a circular economy, not waste.  Every Bottle Back is a reminder that sustainability starts with awareness, but it grows through action. It is about making responsible choices easy, visible, and rewarding, not just for today, but for the future we all share.
