HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

We are seeking a suitably qualified professional to fill the role of Human Resource Officer.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Human Resource Officer shall be responsible for providing human resources and administrative support to the Human Resource Manager as well as the Management Team. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting departmental heads with understanding and implementing policies and procedures, as well as interpreting and advising on employment legislation.
- Recruiting and onboarding staff, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and files.
- Preparing reports, as required and requested by the HR Manager, including month end reports.
- Administering and tracking all plans, allowances, and functions under the Company’s Benefits Program.
- Supporting the Performance Management Program including identifying training needs, organizing training, and coordinating performance reviews.
- Assisting with, and in some cases leading on industrial relations matters.
- Assisting with the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all accident and insurance reports are completed and forwarded to the relevant authorities timely.
- Assisting with the planning, managing and execution of the Employee Engagement Plan.
- Assisting with budget planning, and adherence to approved budgets.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/Management or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations.
- Sound understanding of the ERA.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written & oral) skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
- Proficient data analytics and presentation skills.
- Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset.
